Privacy Policy

When Should I Run? ("WSIR") is a simple weather‑aware running companion. We designed it to respect your privacy by collecting as little data as possible.

What we collect

We do not collect, sell, or share personal data. We do not create accounts, track you across apps or websites, or use third‑party analytics/advertising SDKs.

Location

WSIR requests your device location solely to determine local weather and compute recommended running windows. Your coordinates and the forecast built from them are stored only on your device, so the app can show a recent forecast without asking for one again. We operate no servers and never receive your location.

Forecast requests

Forecasts come from Apple WeatherKit, a service built into iOS. The app asks WeatherKit for the weather at your coordinates directly from your device — there is no WSIR server in between, and no account or identifier is attached to the request. iOS also converts your coordinates into a place name (such as your town) so the app can label the forecast. Both are Apple services, handled under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Earlier versions of WSIR sent your latitude and longitude to a proxy we operated, which forwarded it to a third‑party weather provider. The current version does not. If you are still running an older version, updating stops that.

Notifications

Daily reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device. We do not collect push tokens, and no third‑party messaging provider is used.

Children

WSIR is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

• You can disable or limit Location access at any time in your device settings. WSIR will still open but may not be able to fetch local forecasts.
• You can turn notifications on/off or change the reminder time within the app or in system settings.

Third‑party services

WSIR uses Apple WeatherKit for forecasts, and Apple's location and geocoding services to work out where you are and what that place is called. These are part of iOS and are covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. WSIR uses no other weather provider, no analytics SDK, and no advertising network.

Security

We use industry‑standard safeguards to protect any data in transit. Because we operate no servers and store no customer data, there is no data warehouse to compromise.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
